Peace Silk is a method of obtaining the silk yarn without harming the silkworms. While inside the cocoon, the silkworm transforms into a moth and leaves, leaving the cocoon intact. The cocoon is then harvested for the silk yarn, without any loss of life. In contrast, commercially obtained silk involves the death of 30,000-50,000 silkworms to produce one six-yard fabric.
The Peace Silk yarn is crafted by hand, using natural dyes, and woven by talented female artisans. This cruelty-free yarn was first patented in India in 2006 and is now featured in designer collections worldwide. Our stunning collection of Peace Silk-Cotton blend scarves is both elegant and sustainable, making them ideal for year-round wear.
