Shop items inspired by Amalia Mesa-Baines: Archeology of Memory on view at Phoenix Art Museum November 5, 2023 - February 25, 2024.
Organized by Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, Amalia Mesa-Bains: Archaeology of Memory is the first major retrospective to explore the historically significant work and career of Amalia Mesa-Bains, a pioneering Chicana and feminist multimedia artist. The exhibition brings together nearly 60 works created over 45 years, including the artist’s renowned altar-installations and her lesser-studied handmade books and palimpsest prints characterized by a signature archeological aesthetic of layering and excavation.
Sound and art converge at PhxArt Amplified Vol. 3, an audio x visual experience that takes over the Museum’s galleries and spaces. Returning Saturday, January 20, 2024, this all-day event features a stacked line-up of bands—from indie rock, electronic, Latinx, and Americana to experimental, lo-fi, and pop—hailing from around the region and world, one-day-only visual-art installations, site-specific performances, and more.
In addition to these dynamic art experiences, Amplified guests will enjoy a wide variety of food vendors, specialty drinks and cocktails, and art-engagement programming in a festive environment with a focus on accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability.
Art Block Prints are the perfect way to continue the museum experience at home! They are mounted and laminated for protection from dust and UV rays, and floated in a hand-stained, natural, 2" deep frame made from ash wood grown in sustainable forests. Hanging kit included.
