Versailles Bouquet Scarf

$ 175.00

The vivid bouquet on our elegant silk scarf recalls the rich floral decoration on a Sèvres porcelain plaque (ca. 1771) in the National museum, Stockholm.

Some of the most beautiful and refined decorative objects ever made were created in France during the 18th century. In 1759, King Louis XV took sole ownership of the Sèvres factory near Paris, which he named the Royal Porcelain Manufactory. The innovative factory hired the best artisans of the day to produce costly porcelain objects—such as this sumptuous floral plaque—for the king, members of his court, and wealthy merchants.
