Peruvian Patterns Scarf

$ 100.00

The bold, geometric design on this unisex scarf is derived from a gorgeous cotton and camelid hair cloth fragment (5th–2nd century B.C.) in collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. The textile artisans of ancient Peru had an inordinate sensitivity to the complexities of structure, pattern, and color. Particularly striking are ancient textiles discovered on the Paracas Peninsula. Encompassing an impressive stylistic breadth, they exhibit compelling designs in rich, imaginatively combined colors.
